Fully Relational Databases

Alpha Five supports both tables and sets. A table may contain over 1,000 fields. A field's type may be character, numeric, logical, date, date-time, time, exponent numeric, plain text memo, RTF memo, Windows Bitmap, JPEG, image reference, or OLE. A set is similar to a SQL JOIN and may contain many tables, linked one-to-one, or one-to-many. The picture below shows a form based on two tables to create an invoice.

All Alpha Five forms, browses, reports, letters, and labels can extract their data equally well from a table or set.
