Queries

A query selects, and often orders, records from your database. The purpose of a query is to narrow down the set of records that you are analyzing, to make your application more efficient. This picture shows the Query By Form genie, which makes record selection fast, easy, and intuitive.

You can run Alpha Five queries from Action Scripts, from programs, and interactively from the desktop. Users have many easily understood genies that select, sort, and display records. As a developer, you can selectively hide these utilities or provide them under menu or toolbar entries.
