Xbasic and Code Editor

A sophisticated database and web publishing program requires sophisticated tools. One of the principal goals of Alpha Five is to make it possible for you to do the most common (and many of the uncommon) tasks without programming. But eventually, developers want to do things that the genies never anticipated. This is where Xbasic comes in. Xbasic is a powerful, full featured programming language with thousands of functions and methods. It's Similar to Visual Basic, and it's easy to learn and use.

The Alpha Five Code Editor allows you to open multiple windows and copy and paste code between them. The Code Editor has a large number of productivity features, including Libraries of code snippets, which you can insert into your program with only a few clicks of the mouse. Another important feature is screen help, which interactively provides the information you need to find and use functions and methods. It also has an Interactive Window, where you can test parts of your code right away, before you add them to your script.
