V10 applications can easily include rich "desktop like" user interfaces because of AJAX powered elements such as javascript windows, conditional show/hide display of regions, a tightly integrated and enhanced security framework and a powerful built in and enhanced report writer with pdf reports that can be displayed in modal or modeless javascript windows.
V10 has an extremely comprehensive server side and client side event model which means that any 3rd party javascript library (such as DOJO and Jquery ) can be used to easily extend the product completely. Similarly on the server side, Alpha Five's xBasic code can be mixed with SQL code from any underlying SQL database you choose to use such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2 etc.
An important aspect of v10 is the strength of its data binding which means that connecting to any SQL database is fast and easy and it also makes it easy to set up master detail/parent child relationships for web applications.
Layout controls, which now include a page layout builder and a user interface builder, are very powerful in v10 and allow a web application developer to quickly create user interfaces with tabs, accordions, liquid forms, radio buttons etc that are reminiscent to what can be done on a desktop platform.
