CEO Richard Rabins to Join Industry Thought Leaders in Panel Discussion

BURLINGTON, MA. March 16, 2015 – Alpha Software Corporation today announced that CEO Richard Rabins will speak at The EntreTech Forum’s Mobility and Your Personal Cloud panel discussion, being held March 17 in Waltham, Mass. 

The EntreTech Forum consists of moderated monthly panel discussions on emerging academic research and the commercialization of this technology. This panel will bring together noted business leaders, consultants and industry analysts to look back on Gartner’s prediction that the Personal Cloud would replace the PC by 2014. They will discuss the converging factors that have driven this movement, such as consumerization, virtualization, “app-ification”, the self-service cloud, and mobility shifts. Finally, they will provide insights into the state of the Personal Cloud today and open the discussion up for a Q&A with attendees.

Who: Co-founder of Alpha Software, Rabins focuses on strategy, sales and marketing for the Alpha Anywhere development environment. Rabins served as CEO of SoftQuad International from 1997 to 2001, when it owned Alpha. In addition to his 30 years with the company, Rabins played a key role as co-founder, and served as president and chairman of the Massachusetts Software Council (now the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council), the largest technology trade organization in Massachusetts. Prior to founding Alpha, Rabins was a project leader and consultant with Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), and a management consultant with Management Decision Systems, Inc. Rabins holds a master's degree in system dynamics from the Sloan School at MIT, and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and master's degree in control engineering from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has served on the boards of Silent Systems, Legacy Technology and O3B Networks, and is co-founder of Tubifi.
