Hi,

Don't know if this is where I should be looking, but I need an ICD-9 database with codes and full descriptions to plug into a project I'm working on. Preferably a FREE database.... I've used Google, but most everything I came upon were web-based databases for lookup, and the few I DID find weren't complete. This would be comparable for looking for a Zipcode database. This database is just a list of codes and descriptions of medical conditions (Dr. Wayne, are you listening??!:) )

Thanks.

Hi, Shawn.

I did a Google search using the keywords "download ICD-9 table -pdf". (Please note the exclusion of pdf files.)

If you haven't yet, you might want to try these links:

http://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/toolssoftware/mhsa/mhsa.jsp

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/7043/

There are downloads there for ICD-9 codes in csv and rec formats, respectively. You'll have to check if they are complete, though. I'm not familiar with ICD-9. (We use ICD-10! )
