    Default Desktop - Find your app on a lan

    When you need to be able to find your data files on a lan, this may help you. It is small, quick, free. Hopefully(given time), I will combine it into a bootstrap and submit the code in the code archive.

    You can use command line switches for this as well. Meaning, you can quietly find the path to your app, save it in a xls(or other file), open it silently with your boot autoexec and read it into a variable, use it to set the path to make your shadowed tables.

    Dave if you haven't already;
    The best tool ever for any kind of file for me has been http://everything.en.softonic.com/
    For your own use not for installing. Its not fast - its instant as you type!

    Ray,

    I think that will do local, I needed something to search an entire network.

    The objective was to find a free search for a lan .

    If you inserted a file like zascxdrgf.xyz in a folder on a lan and used the softperfect app, it would find it on whatever lan computer it is on and come back with an address like \\servername\foldername\otherfoldername. If there is more than one of those files, it will come back with a list of the servers and folders.

    Yep I know
    As I said for your own use not installing
    just offering another free app that has been the most useful finder for me on local or network drives.
    Aside from your kind offering. I send and save numbers of admin documents. May or not be of interest.
