    Default Who said ignorance is bliss? a5_setappversionnumber

    Couldn't get a search for this function - apparently it is too long. I did something stupid (ignorant) I lost all the code in my server adb files but had a fresh one in the shadowed runtime. So I just copied them all over to the server. Now I cannot update the version number on the server because it thinks I am in a shadow. I thought the optimize routine was just copying the server adb not modifying them - but apparently not.

    I made changes to the code tab that weren't in my backup which is the reason I did this. the file sizes, date & time were the same...who knew?

    Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I checked my server tables and none of them are shadowed - just so you know. I am able to edit all the files using my developer copy. So where is this 'shadow' info stored - and can I change it?

    In the ALM file I found one line that references the old version that was readable:

    B<version_number=17.0501>
    <outofdate_flag=1>
    <check_portion=1>

    I did a search and found an old thread that showed how to change these values, but nothing about a setting that would show why it thinks it is a shadow.

    I have done that once accidentally and not knowing.
    It was painful tro fix and there may be an easier way. I deleted the adb files and created a new one, then copied to from the shadow all the scripts and functions I had created. It was time consuming.

    Well albeit scary, that wasn't too bad to fix. I copied all my server files to a local directory and renamed the 4 adb files. Then I created a new adb with the old name and loaded the app & checked the properties, changed the version, etc. Sure enough that fixed it. So I copied just the 1 adb file back to the server and tried it and everything is good to go. All my code and forms are in the other files so it was just the adb I needed.

    The Lord is good to me!
