    Default Multiple A5 Version concerns?

I have a client that has several versions of A5, each with their own applications, running concurrently. He has had to re-install EVERYTHING on his system several times after having to reboot out of A5. I am asking if running mutiple applications under multiple versions of A5 causes issues?

    Thanks,

    Gene

Yes it can cause issues, usually caused by user confusion.
I have several versions of alpha on one computer. I also have a list of which version to use with which application so I do not mess up.

    I read the question differently.

There should be no issues installing several versions of Alpha and running applications designed for a specific version under that version.
    There can be only one.

OK. So, if my understanding is correct, you are both saying that so long as the application that is running was built under the version of A5 that is running, there should be no issues. Correct?

My wonderment at this point is with the thinking that the "hidden" system info that A5 relies on may be different with each version of A5. If that happens and several versions are running concurrently and the filenames/locations are the same across several versions, I can see issues popping up. Can I rest assured that the files that are written behind the scenes have names/locations that are unique to each version of A5?

I appreciate your input and thoughts.

    Thanks.

    Snapshot of a regedit view.

Alpha keeps registry entries separate for separate versions.

Bit late on this one, but location of the install is probably easier for the versions outside of the Prog Files (x86) .
As Stan points out, the Registry shows separate keys for different versions.
As Dave points out, user confusion is easy. Some installations of Alpha pick up the wrong AS Icon, so V10, 11 and 12 all have the same one. It is not unknown for a Runtime to be launched instead of a Dev version.
So, suggest you use completely different icons and install in specific folders away from Prog Files.
