Default Navigate To File and Return Path/Filename

    Good Afternoon,

I'm new to Alpha Anywhere so please be patient with me. I would like for the user of a UX control to be able to click a button in the UX named something like "Get Filename" and have that button open a windows explored like file navigation dialog. When the user (using this dialog) gets to the folder they want and selects one of the files I would like the full path of that file and the filename returned so that I can store that value in a database field. An example of the value I would like to return is something like: "C:\documents\FolderOne\AnotherFolder\FileIWant.txt". Is there a previous post or a good video on this topic. I have searched the forum and help pages, but maybe I'm using the wrong keywords.

Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

    Kim

If you can use xbasic you could get what you want with ui_get_file(). Since you mention UX you may be speaking of a browser/mobile application but you posted in the desktop section (V11).

Sorry. I should have been more precise. I am building a desktop application. To create the UX component I chose "New" component from the Web Project Control Panel, chose "Web Component", then chose "UX". I then populated the UX with multiple new controls bound to an existing table. One of these is the FilePath I want to resolve and populate.

I've never used a web component so I can't advise if you can use an xbasic to populate the filepath. If you can, use ui_get_file() with the appropriate parameters.
