    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for your reply.

This article Custom Software Development 10 steps to engage with the client reflects more then 30 years of experience.

Many of new clients don't even have any written specs or even a wish list. Some of them even request to look into their old application and based on that (that old code) we need to grab the business rules and make it work for the new web based solution. It takes much more time this way. Lake of written specs may delay the project and sometimes it takes months and months until we even start with project due to lake of any documentation.

Hi Doron, I have over 60 years of customer care now and I know you followed all best practices.
I do think you are beating a dead audience here. People often think they know better than the one with the real experience and wear it to the poor house.
How often I wen into Dealerships and installed my CRM that was also built on tried and proven techniques, but until the salesforce was forced into using it, there was no pleasing them. Once they saw the benefit, you could not tear it away from them.

    Hi Dave,

I hear you loud and clear. I see your point as well. But some employees need to be forced to use the application and provide feedback. I actually deal with such a project right now. The users don't care to provide any feedback, but luckily the owner cares.

In general, you need to have a starting point for the project, when the client at least should have a wish list. Otherwise it is not possible to move on.
