Default Integrating UPS API / View Code for Global Functions

Currently the only built-in API for UPS is the ups_delivery_status() function. I am trying to get the UPS "Time in Transit" API integrated into our database. I'm fairly certain it can be done, however the examples provided by UPS for implementing their API are quite lacking.

Is there any way to see the code behind the built-in Global functions in alpha to see how they have achieved the ups_delivery_status() function?

    OR

Has anyone here implemented the "Time in Transit" (or any other UPS API) and may be able to provide some guidance?

I saw a previous post on here with someone stating they are sure it would be possible, I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

The developer kit that offers the time in transit API is for a website. For the desktop you would implement a browser control mapped to the url.

I was able to get it working using http_fetch to send out the data and XML parsing to extract the data from the result.

I do something similar with Smarty Streets to verify an address. Finding the instructions is the fun part... It would be nice to see how that works with UPS.
