Default Host WAS on a different IP Address

I have the WAS running on Port 81, and IIS running on Port 80. This has been working fine. However, one of my customers cannot access the WAS, it just times out. I have read that some ISPs block port 81. If so, would a solution be to move the was to a different IP address on my virtual server? Could it then run on port 80 at the new IP Address?

Has anyone tried the method mentioned in this article to unbind an IP address in Windows IIS so the WAS can also run on Port 80?

Looks pretty complex. I haven't tried it, you may have to pioneer. It would allow you to run www.mysite.com through IIS and then www.myothersite.com through WAS, both on port 80.

I was intrigued also with the comments about "ISAPI redirect" which is supposed to let you redirect www.mysite.com to a folder on your server on a different port. The problem with IIS so far is that it does this, but shows the port number in the redirect. If this ISAPI redirect helps eliminate this, I'd like to find out.

The ability for the Application Server to run on a single IP address is a new feature in V10. The method suggested will not work in previous versions because even though IIS will leave an address open, the Application Server will still try to use all of them and fail to start up.

Didn't notice we are in the V7 forum. I have built web apps from V6 on. I think V7 is a fine platform for building web apps. The fundamentals have not changed (until you get to V10 AJAX stuff). But it is hard to get support up on this message board for V7 because most experienced users are up on V9 or V10, and it is hard to try to recall what works or not back on 7.
