October 2013 - The most recent verdict is in - HTML5/JavaScrip/CSS3 the way to go for mobile app development

html5

While native approaches were perceived to be the best choice for mobile application development in the enterprise a few years ago, today, 57 per cent of those surveyed believe that HTML5 is either enterprise-ready or will be within 12 months.

Over 3000  developers, CTO's, CIO's and development managers were polled this October regarding mobile app development.

Here some of the key findings.

* Web and hybrid (web wrapped with something like Phone Gap)  approaches are becoming increasingly popular with developers.

* The Web Platform (HTML5 & JavaScript) is the top choice for building cross-platform apps.

The question then becomes:

What development and deployment environment will allow developers and domain experts to build their cross-platform mobile and web apps as cost effectively as possible?
