New reporting tools coming soon! Exporting Data from the Grid and UX components to report formats in Word, Excel, PDF and ASCII

If you use Alpha Five Version 11 you will know that the tightly integrated enterprise and business reporting tools represent one of Alpha's important advantages. We recently wrote a blog post on this topic, highlighting some of the upcoming business reporting tools, like HMTL reporting and mobile reporting,  in our next major release.

We are now happy to show off a very exciting new capability in the upcoming version of Alpha that applies to the UX and the Grid Components

Prior versions of Alpha Five have supported exporting data from a Grid component to either Excel or ASCII files. The data was exported as a simple, unformatted table of raw data.

Now, a new type of export is available. You can use a Report Definition to specify the format for an export operation. Data can be exported to Excel, Word, ASCII, HTML or PDF.
