Field Rule Error Messages
/documentation/pages/Desktop/Reference/Design/Data/FieldRules/Field Rule Error Messages.xml
The following two messages may appear if a field rule references a variable that does not exist.
Field Rule Evaluation
/documentation/pages/Desktop/Reference/Design/Data/FieldRules/Field Rule Evaluation.xml
Before a record is saved to the table with either the .ENTER_END() or .CHANGE_END() methods, the validation field rules for each field must be satisfied. If a field value violates any validation rule, a run-time error occurs. The field's validation rules are checked every time you assign a value to it.
Show message on UX component if it has field validation errors
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/UX/Properties/Validation and Error Reporting/Show message on UX component if it has field validation errors.xml
If any fields have validation errors, show a message on the dialog to indicate that there were errors. Note that if the component uses Panels, and the message is not shown, you should specify a Javascript function to call and write your own handler. Additionally, the client-side 'onFieldValidationError' event will fire if there are any server-side field level validation errors.
Creating a Field Rule Event
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/Data/FieldRules/Creating a Field Rule Event.xml
Events are pre-named Alpha Anywhere actions that are associated with certain Alpha Anywhere components. For example, clicking on a button on a form initiates an event called OnPush. When you click on a field, form or browse, a series of events happen. This series includes the OnArrive event for the field you clicked on, and the OnDepart event for the field you left. Alpha Five lets you attach Xbasic code that executes when specific events like these occur.
Creating a Posting Field Rule
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/Data/FieldRules/Creating a Posting Field Rule.xml
During data entry, you can post values in the current field to matching records in a second table, thus adding to, subtracting from, or replacing the value in a second table.
Placeholder for UX Component validation error messages
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/UX/Properties/Validation and Error Reporting/Placeholder for UX Component validation error messages.xml
This property is optional. Specify a placeholder for where global UX component validation errors should be shown. If you don't specify a value, a default location will be used. If your component uses Panels, then it is recommended that you specify a placeholder here; otherwise any error messages will be shown in a pop-up window. If you do not want the error messages to shown in a pop-up window specify ]]> as the value for the placeholder.
Grid Field Properties

Grid Fields can contain many of the following properties:
Grid Component Capabilities

Web publishing applications only. A grid component displays reads from and writes to your database and displays the data in a web page. The Grid Builder is a genie that you use to create grid components. The HTML Editor allows you to place grid components into A5W pages (an A5W page is a hybrid HTML/Xbasic page that is processed by the Application Server ). Grids have many optional capabilities that you can enable or disable through menus. Many properties of a new grid component have default properties. If you wish, you can set different default property values.
