Active-Link Tables
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/Data/DBF/Active-Link Tables.xml
Active-Link tables allow you to work with data in SQL tables. An active-link table is a local Alpha Anywhere table that is dynamically populated with data from a remote SQL database. Any changes that you make to the local active-link table are immediately persisted (i.e. saved) to the remote database. This means that you can build Alpha Anywhere forms that update, insert and delete records in remote SQL tables. In addition, it means that you can use your knowledge of how to work with tables using Xbasic to manipulate data in remote SQL databases.
Reports - Sets - Active Link Tables
/documentation/pages/Guides/Report/Creating Reports/Active Link Tables in Reports and Sets.xml
When you create a new Report, Label or Letter that is based on a Set that joins Active-Link tables, Alpha Anywhere analyzes the Set structure and the definition of each of the Active-Link tables to see if the Report could instead be based on a SQL Query.
Optimized Active-Link Sets
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/Data/SQL/Optimized Active-Link Sets.xml
In Sets that are based on active-link tables, there are now dramatic performance improvements under certain conditions. The conditions under which you will see performance improvements are in Sets with one-to-one links, were the one-to-one links at a given level in the Set are based on the same SQL backend database.
LINK Function
/documentation/pages/Ref/Api/Functions/Document Types/DBF/Set Functions/LINK Function.xml
Returns the linking key given the name of a child table.
Link Properties
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/Grid/Grid Fields/Grid Field Properties/Control Properties/Link Properties.xml
An essential decision about a link control is what it will display. The options are: Value in field, Value from other field(s), Static text, Static image, Image in another control
Active row icon
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/UX/Controls/Props/repsec/Active row icon.xml
Defines the icon shown for the active repeating row.
a5_active_link_refreshdefinition Function
/documentation/pages/Ref/Api/Functions/Document Types/DBF/Table Functions/a5_active_link_refreshdefinition Function.xml
Refresh the definition of an active-link table.
Refresh Passive Link Table(s)
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/Platform/Xbasic Action Scripting/Table/Refresh Passive Link Tables.xml
The Refresh Passive Link Table(s) action displays the causes Alpha Anywhere to erase the contents of the table, then retrieve the table's data from its SQL data source.
