- Record Navigation and Dialog Search
/documentation/pages/Server/Guide/Design/View/Component/Record Navigation and Dialog Search.xml
Requires the Dialog Component - Record Navigation and Dialog Search feature pack, included in subscription
Using this Feature Pack you can easily add functionality to let you navigate from record to record in a Dialog Component that has been bound to a database. The videos show how you can implement First/Next/Previous/Last buttons to move from record to record, how you can add a slider control to navigate from record to record, or how you can add a List View control to the Dialog to show you a list of key values that you can click on to navigate to a particular record in your Database.
- Passing a Record from a Grid to a Dialog
/documentation/pages/Server/Guide/Design/View/Grid/Passing a Record from a Grid to a Dialog.xml
Web publishing applications only. The problem is the following. You have selected a record in a grid and now want to display it in a separate page containing dialog component. The solution to the problem lies in the fact that you can set default values for a dialog component's variables in the URL of the page that loads the dialog.
- Overriding GridLinker Component Settings
/documentation/pages/Obsolete/Grid Linker Component/Overriding GridLinker Component Settings.xml
Overriding settings a GridLinker component at run-time is not as simple as it is for a grid or dialog component. This is because a lot of the code that executes is hidden inside the definition of the GridLinker component. Nevertheless, once you understand more about what goes on inside the GridLinker component, it is not hard to do.
The first step is to make sure you know what the aliases are for each of the grid components in the GridLinker. To find the names of the aliases:
