Sorting a Grid on Multiple Fields
/documentation/pages/Server/Guide/Design/View/Grid/Sorting a Grid on Multiple Fields.xml
The default behavior of a grid component allows the user to sort on any column (or row) value by clicking the column (or row) header. What do you do when you want to sort on multiple fields? This example demonstrates a technique. This page contains two components: a dialog with a drop down list box and a grid displaying fields from the AlphaSports sample database.
Grid, Tabbed UI and Page Layout Builder - Search for Property
/documentation/pages/Server/Guide/Design/View/Grid/Grid, Tabbed UI and Page Layout Builder Search for Property.xml
A new feature has been added to these builders that allows you to search for a property in the Grid. This makes it very easy to find a particular property that you want to edit. A 'search' hyperlink is visible above each Property Grid and when you click the hyperlink, a window open. As you type in the search box, the list is filtered. Double click or press enter to give focus to the selected property.
Using a Button List Control to set Active Panes in a Tab Control
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/UX/Controls/Data Controls/Button List/Using a Button List Control to set Active Panes in a Tab Control.xml
A common design in a tab control is to have a series of tabs along the border of the control. When the user clicks on a tab a corresponding pane opens. The Button list control can be used to replace the tabs on a tab control, such that clicking on a given button will open a corresponding pane.
Using a Query to Find a Record
/documentation/pages/Guides/Desktop/Design/View/Database/Using a Query to Find a Record.xml
The following script shows how a query works. First, we open a table and set the query dot variable parameters. In this case the default record order is fine. We only filter for records where the field Bill_State_Region equals "MA". Finally, we create the query list.

/documentation/pages/Ref/Action Javascript/Open a Report, Label or Letter layout.xml

/documentation/pages/Server/Guide/Design/View/Grid/Opening a UX from a Button on a Grid and Passing Information Into the UX.xml

Using a Icon to Indicate Selected Rows in a Multi-select List Control
/documentation/pages/Guides/Mobile and Web Components/UX/Controls/Data Controls/List/Using a Icon to Indicate Selected Rows in a Multi-select List Control.xml
Button List controls, and the Checkbox controls rendered as a Button List, can show an icon on selected items. The List control can also be configured to allow multiple selections (like a Button List or Checkbox), but it does not show an icon on the selected rows to indicate the row has been selected (it shows selected rows using a different row color).
