Default QB 2012 Ageing Summary Report

    Hi,

I am currently building an ageing summary report for a client.

Everything is working correctly if I extract the invoiceLines where the paid status = False
    but
as soon as the user do payments and not select an invoice, then it still shows as not paid, making the report inaccurate.

Is there another way to extract totals per customer to generate a more reliable ageing report?

    Please assist.

    Regards
    Walter

    Maybe another approach.
Which tables would make up the "Accounts Receivable" Account?
Looks like that could work as well.

    Walter,

    When you say:
as soon as the user do payments and not select an invoice
Are you saying the user records a payment but does not apply it to an invoice in QuickBooks? If so, I don't think there's a reliable way to age the invoices. You could summarize payments for a customer but it wouldn't tell you which invoices were paid, if you see what I mean. If I'm understanding you correctly the report is not "inaccurate", instead the problem comes from user error. It's not reasonable, IMHO, for the user to expect you to be able to age the receivables for them if they don't mark them when they're paid.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for the reply.

There is a very simple way to fix this :)

I executed this sql statement: "sp_report ARAgingSummary show Current_Title, Amount_Title, Text, Label, Current, Amount parameters DateMacro = 'Today', AgingAsOf = 'Today'"
and whaalllaa, the whole ageing exactly as is shown in the QB ageing summary.

All I am doing now is to get the data generated from this statement and put it into a dbf table, tweak the data a little bit to create a decent ageing report. Problem solved big time :)

No need for xbasic ageing code or nothing (which I had build already !)

    Regards
    Walter
