Default MenuTree app - Creates XML Toolbox Menu or Tree

This Desktop application will assist in creating an animated Toolbox style menu from a table that can also be displayed as a 2 or 3 level tree. I pulled out the help files and Bitmap AEX into a separate zip - they all go in the same directory. If you extract the files to the path I used: C:\A5v11\Menutree, there is a shortcut link and startup file you can use to open the app. The menu should open to the Act Menu Editor which has lots of bubble help included on the form. I also included a font you may need to install called Parkplace.ttf.

This one menu can be used for different apps (or users), so I included data for 3 different menus as samples.

    Questions and suggestions welcome!

Should anyone actually try out the app, the lightning bolt will take you to the control panel and the password is 'a5'. Ctrl-z will also get you there.

    Robin:

I took a look at it this evening. You've done a very nice job with what I have seen so far.

It looks like it would be a neat and clean way to replace a classic "card stack" navigation form.

Thank you for your effort, here. I imagine this took quite a bit of time on your part.

I may use your foundation down the road!

    Bravo!

Thanks Craig. I have been using it for awhile, and it does make it easier to update the menu. As you look around, let me know if you have any questions or ideas.

    Robin, great job.
It looks really very good -running as set up, out the box. As you go it opens an additional floating toolbar. Some good help popups assist, some confusing a bit..
I have have played with width settings and changes within the main UDF called to display the menu.
The tables for Opened and closed that are linked in the set, what they do?.

I changed two Toplevel items to "Billing", using your form. All your items still open (with the same height as when populated) - but now EMPTY and there is no Billing.

Maybe you could outline a brief procedure to create a clean menu from scratch - which UDFs, tables and forms are essential for the menu to work. And eliminate those that are used only for your testing. Minimal can it get?

    Hi Ray,
Thanks for the feedback. I have continued to modify some features for other apps that I have. I suppose a PDF would be good to add to it as it does need some explaining. I'll work on it...

Well I haven't gotten too far with writing actual instructions (there is a help file and tooltips already). But I have been playing with it a bit to make it look better in windows 10 and found a way to add an icon to the Category element. Oddly enough in the Item section ' icon= ' requires an image number to find the image, but in the Category line I just added in a parameter for ' icon=atbl.xmlcatimg ' which is the bitmap name. I tried it first with smaller images but when rendered, the bitmaps were expanded to about 4 x their normal size (fuzzy). So then I used the genie filtered to LARGE images and using these they are much clearer and kept their resolution.

    Take a look:

When I get thru with my tweaks I will update the zip.
