    Default SSL private key error

I think I have tried all the options but I am still getting
The private key could not be created: Error opening output file while creating private key.
trying to create a self signed cert. Actually I get same error creating a CSR.

The Common Name is an ip address, not a domain, but I have tested entering a domain name and same problem.

The machine is Win7 with UAC on. It is not convenient at the moment to reboot in order to turn UAC off. Might UAC be the issue?

Yes, it is quite possibly a UAC issue. Make sure you are creating your cert in a directory that has unrestricted access.

Thanks Lenny, I don't think I have control over where the self signed cert is initially created, just where I would put it and then specify in the WAS. probably initally created in C:\? I should be able to reboot today sometime.

Reporting back that the cert is successfully created in C:\ when UAC is off. Then turned UAC back on.

I'm having the same issue (with Alpha Anywhere WAS - latest build) and it doesn't appear to be a UAC issue (changed my UAC settings and restarted already).

    Any thoughts?

When creating a CSR or self-signed certificate, files will be written to the same directory as your workspace ADB file. You need to ensure that your account has the required Windows permissions to create new files in this location.
