Action JavaScript - Alpha Anywhere's Feature to build fast & easy apps

Action Javascript in Alpha Anywhere = A Great Idea to Boost Productivity and Ease of Use

Action JavaScript is one of Alpha Anywhere's features that makes it fast and easy to build mobile and web apps.

With Action Javascript, you specify the action you want, and Alpha Anywhere writes the underlying Javascript for you.

In the example below, we show a new action Javascript added in response to a request from an Alpha Anywhere customer in Denmark. The new action in Action Javascript is:

"Edit the Current Row in a List Control in another UX Component"

The Grid component has an option in Action Javascript to edit the current row in a Grid using a UX component (that is data bound to the same table that the Grid is based on). This option also allows you to add a new record to the Grid using a UX component. The action for the Grid is called: "Open a UX component to Edit Current Record in Grid, or add a new Record" Now, an analogous action is available in Action Javascript to edit the current row in a List control (for Lists that are based on SQL or DBF data sources) using another UX component that is data bound to the same table that the List is based on. The action for the UX is called: "Open a UX component to Edit Current Record in List Control in a UX, or add a new Record to a List Control in a UX" Watch Video

The Alpha platform is the only unified mobile and web app development and deployment environment with distinct “no-code” and “low-code” components. Using the Alpha TransForm no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Alpha TransForm's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Alpha Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Alpha TransForm), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
