The engineering team at Alpha Software is constantly innovating our products. The Alpha Anywhere mobile app development platform is recognized for its advanced patented capabilities when it comes to building mobile apps that can work well in situations where a WIFI or cell signal is non-existent, weak, or inconsistent.
We are happy to introduce another powerful new capability that adds to the Alpha Anywhere offline apps toolset.
Alpha Anywhere apps have always had the ability work independent of network connectivity. When you're ready to upload changes made offline back to a server, however, however, you may want to know if that's even possible over your current network connection. There are many cases where data synchronization cannot be done. For example, the server may not be available if there is no internet connection or the connection may be too slow to upload data in a reasonable amount of time.
Rather than attempt synchronization only to have it fail or take way too long, you can now test the network connection before attempting to upload to a server. If the connection is too slow, or the server can't be reached, you can notify your users to try again later when they have a better connection.
This video shows how you can test your network connection before attempting synchronization in your Alpha Anywhere apps. This feature is available now in the Alpha Anywhere Nightly Build and will be included in the next Stable Release.
