Freshbooks is an online, cloud-based, accounting system with a very good API and the ability to create Webhooks. Webhooks are event based calls (e.g. Invoice Payment) to a webpage, in this case an Alpha Anywhere a5w page. The a5w page processes the call and, in turn, makes further API calls to Freshbooks to gather information and then updates your Alpha SQL tables.
FreshBooks Webhooks can be created for a number of events: Add Client, add invoice, pay invoice and many other events. The API can be utilized from the Alpha Anywhere side to update Freshbook data as well.
