Alpha Software Blog

Alpha Has a New GitHub Account. So How Can It Help You?

Our new GitHub is dedicated to making Alpha Anywhere sample applications available to you, and our first two sample applications have been posted. The first is Bob Moore's excellent PhoneGap Demo which he explains in this video.

The second is brand new and explains how to add email capabilities to your mobile application
using SMTP and Mandrill (a web service). We recently had a short workshop webinar on this topic, and there is a recording available.

We plan to greatly expand the offering in our GitHub account in the upcoming weeks, but wanted to let you know about it now.

Alpha Anywhere's GitHub account is here:

We hope you find this useful.

So what is GitHub? GitHub is a web-based code repository and source code management system
- or in simple terms - it's a place to store programming code so other people can get to it.

We plan to do a webinar on how to use GitHub with Alpha Anywhere, because it's
a terrific way for more than one person to work on an Alpha project at a time. In fact,
the programming team here at Alpha has been using GitHub for years. If you are
interesting in details about this or other webinars, please contact guides(at)

The Alpha platform is the only unified mobile and web app development and deployment environment with distinct “no-code” and “low-code” components. Using the Alpha TransForm no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Alpha TransForm's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Alpha Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Alpha TransForm), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
