We're pleased to announce the release of Alpha Anywhere 4.6.1.3. This release includes numerous enhancements and features for building beautiful on- and offline applications. We have also worked hard to improve the performance of the development environment and published applications. In addition, we've made security improvements across the board -- including the Classic and IIS servers -- giving you the peace of mind that your apps are secure.
Offline Capable Tabular Data Editing
Integrated Dropdown Menus
We've made it easier than ever to add interactive menus in your applications. The Control Bar now features integrated Dropdown Menus, eliminating the need to manually add menu controls to your design and making it easier to maintain your apps.
New Control: Weather Widget
We've added a new control - the Weather Widget - to your app development toolbox. Backed by the AccuWeather API, the Weather Widget can be used to add hourly forecasts into any application.
View and Edit File Directories in your iOS Apps with iOS Quick Look
We've integrated the iOS Quick Look into the Alpha WkWebView Engine (Alpha Anywhere's alternative to Apple's deprecated UIWebView.) The Quick Look Framework gives your users the ability to browse a file directory and open any document in its native viewer, including iWork documents (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), Microsoft Office documents, PDF files, images, text files, Rich-Text Format documents, CSV files, video files, audio files, and USDZ files for viewing AR content.
Optimizations, Security Enhancements, and More!
In addition to the features above, Alpha Anywhere 4.6.3.1 also includes speed and security improvements across the board as well as numerous other enhancements, including:
- Optimizations to the IDE, including improved file searching, optimized component file formats, and speed improvements to the UX builder
- Optional component encryption for published applications
- Speed improvements to the IIS and Classic Application Servers for faster application delivery
- Multi-app support against the same user security backend
- SendGrid email integration
