While Adobe PhoneGap adds a number of benefits to your app's design for mobile – including taking advantage of device hardware and being able to deploy an app through popular apps stores - wrapping an HTML5 app in PhoneGap is not necessarily an easy thing to do. Developers must have some knowledge of PhoneGap and a good amount of coding is still required.
In April, Alpha Software automated the process of building Adobe PhoneGap™ apps by integrating the Adobe PhoneGap Build service, which assembles PhoneGap apps in the cloud from HTML5 and standardized native code, directly into the Alpha Anywhere low-code development environment.
The goal was to give a range of developers – even those without prior PhoneGap knowledge and who design for mobile – a simple and fast way to make cross-platform hybrid business applications a reality for their business. Since the launch, we've had great feedback from customers on how they can easily wrap HTML5 business apps in PhoneGap.
What are users saying about PhoneGap build?
This week we heard from a customer who recently began using the Alpha Anywhere PhoneGap Build integration on a number of business apps his firm is developing for clients. His company is a consulting firm that specializes in building B2B/B2E database apps. Previously, the firm had shied away from PhoneGap, but now they're taking full advantage of the benefits of building hybrid apps
|“||I cannot congratulate Alpha enough on the amazing job your team did building the PhoneGap integration! Truly amazing! When you look at what you had to do before they built the interface. I specifically stayed away from PhoneGap prior to the integration as there was way too much command line work for my liking.||”|
