The Surprise 2017 Enterprise Tech Trend: "The Incredible SQL Comeback"
Eric Knorr in the recent article "9 Enterprise Tech Trends for 2017 and Beyond" discussed the SQL comeback as a top 9 trend:
"For a few years it seemed like all we did was talk about NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra. The flexible data modeling and scale-out advantages of these sizzling new solutions were stunning. But guess what? SQL has learned to scale out, too...The fact is, if you have a lot of data then you want to be able to analyze it, and the popular analytics tools (not to mention their users) still demand SQL."
We continue to hear about the importance of SQL from our customers, and have some exciting new SQL-related features coming soon in our Alpha Anywhere Enterprise package!

The Alpha platform is the only unified mobile and web app development and deployment environment with distinct “no-code” and “low-code” components. Using the Alpha TransForm no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Alpha TransForm's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Alpha Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Alpha TransForm), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
