What Motivated the Team at Alpha Software to Create Alpha Anywhere for Developing and Deploying Mobile and Web Apps?

We’ve been providing software developers with the capabilities and support they need to create innovative business applications for over a decade now.

Alpha Anywhere is a rapid application development and deployment platform that is being used by programmers and line of business people around the world to create robust and secure mobile and web business applications that can work whether there is a connection or not.

We created Alpha Anywhere because:

1) Mobility is transforming the way we all work. Mobile computing enables each one of us to access the information we need to do our work - anytime, anywhere, and on any computing device.

2)  This rapid shift to mobile computing has triggered an overwhelming demand for new business applications and developers need a fast, reliable, efficient and cost-effective way to build and deploy them.

3)  These new apps must provide a compelling user experience that users will be excited to adopt… they must tie easily into an organization's data sources and web services as well as its business processes… they must meet enterprise-level security standards… and finally, they must provide the highest level of support for "offline" or disconnected computing.

If you speak to companies and developers who have being trying to build mobile enterprise apps you will find a lot of frustration and it is worth noting that even though the number of mobile apps that need to be built is in the 2000 to 3000 range for Global 2000 companies, the average number of apps built so far is less than 10 according to Gartner!

What is holding them back? Based on data from IDC (presented in Boston in March 2015,) the biggest factors with current development  are:

    • They are incomplete (eg. they don’t include front and back end development capabilities or they lack a full set of built in tools for security, reporting, charting, mapping , etc.)
    • They take too long to develop in - which results in the applications being too expensive to build and requiring developers with very specialized skills because of the added challenges that mobile adds to enterprise apps (cross platform, limited screen size, more demanding UX’s etc)
    • They do not offer comprehensive yet easy built-in data integration capabilities,
    • They require a huge amount of extra effort to address the transactional offline requirements along with flexible conflict resolution that are needed by most enterprise mobile applications. (According to VDC research in 2014,  89% of enterprises regard offline support to be either "very important" or "critically important."
We built Alpha Anywhere to address these issues

Applications developed with Alpha Anywhere provide the look, feel, and performance of native applications… but, since they are created with HTML5, the applications can be run on virtually any smart computing device.

Alpha Anywhere's responsive application design capabilities allow your app to automatically adjust to the available screen size and orientation on your smartphone, tablet, laptop/chromebook or desktop PC.

Custom JavaScript controls ensure the performance that, in the past, you could only get from a native application. And because one-touch support for PhoneGap Build is included with Alpha Anywhere, your applications can easily take advantage of device hardware such as camera, accelerometer, and GPS.

With Alpha Anywhere you get all of the advantages of natively programmed apps but in a much faster, more efficient and  more cost-effective way.

Alpha Anywhere enables you to combine the time-to-market advantages of "Rapid Application Development" with powerful "Coding Optional" capabilities, providing direct access to "injection points" where you can easily hook your own client-side and server-side code into the code created by Alpha Anywhere. This ensures both a high level of productivity and a very high level of confidence that you can get the job done within your spec, schedule and budget.

I invite you to take advantage of our offer to download and begin developing with our trial version of Alpha Anywhere. When you do, I believe that you'll quickly understand that Alpha Anywhere offers you everything in terms of back end and front end capabilities including Mobile Back end services, a modern Javascript framework, reporting, location based data mapping, charting, client side templating, scheduling that you need to build, deploy and maintain the mission-critical mobile business applications required in this new, rapidly changing Mobile Era.

At the end of day Alpha gives you the two things you care about most when it comes to mobilizing business.

    • Productivity
    • The assurance that it has the horsepower to get the entire job done!
