Gartner's Top Criteria for Selecting Tools for Mobile App Development

At this week's Gartner Application Architecture, Development and Integration Summit in Las Vegas, I heard a compelling presentation entitled, “Picking the Best New Mobile AD Tech: MBaaS and RMAD”. Knowing what features are must-haves for custom mobile app development is important for your business. In the presentation, analysts Richard Marshall and Van Baker shared a slide that outlines Gartner's top criteria for mobile application development: [caption id="attachment_12461" align="aligncenter" width="577"]gartner1 Source: “Picking the Best New Mobile AD Tech: MBaaS and RMAD” Presentation by Richard Marshall, Van Baker at Gartner AADI 2015[/caption] We are gratified to see this, because for the last 4 1/2 years we've evolved the Alpha Anywhere rapid mobile application development and deployment environment with heavy focus on these three criteria: data integration, low-code development for a wide range of users, and offline capability. In fact, we're proud to be the first rapid mobile application development vendor to offer built-in offline capability without incremental time or cost. We credit our customers with helping our engineering team constantly evolve the Alpha Anywhere environment to meet enterprise development needs and ease complex development challenges. Feedback from our customers about complex data integration requirements, the shortage of skilled mobile developers, and the need for apps to work when there's no connection, are just some of the mobile challenges we started working on years ago with our customers. More info on how Alpha Anywhere is designed to deal with these challenges. Read why Gartner thinks Alpha Software is positioned to solve these issues for enterprises. Hear about the buzz we're creating this week at the Gartner AADI event.

The Alpha platform is the only unified mobile and web app development and deployment environment with distinct “no-code” and “low-code” components. Using the Alpha TransForm no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Alpha TransForm's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Alpha Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Alpha TransForm), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
