2017 Gartner Market Guide for Rapid Mobile App Development Tools

Alpha Anywhere wins accolades in the Gartner Market Guide for Rapid Mobile App Development Tools.

2017 Gartner Market Guide For Rapid Mobile App Development ToolsGartner released the 2017 Gartner Market Guide for Rapid Mobile App Development Tools by Research Director Jason Wong. The Market Guide reviews RMAD technology to help IT departments meet the demands of the digital workplace for modern mobile apps. The report provides advice for application leaders considering a rapid mobile app development tool with outstanding user experiences for their organization.

First, Gartner defines rapid mobile app development (RMAD) technology and its importance in the IT ecosystem:

“Rapid mobile app development (RMAD) tools are a class of high productivity development tools that target and enable non-programmers (and, in some cases, developers without any mobile experience) to build mobile apps using little to no code to support, at a minimum, iOS, and Android mobile devices.

Gartner then explains RMAD will be a key driver of the democratization of app development for the building of enterprise apps. RMAD tools allow IT departments to enable citizen developers to build mobile apps, while IT maintains control over the data. Gartner predicts:

By 2022, citizen developers will be building more than one-third of web and mobile employee-facing apps delivered in organizations with mature citizen development initiatives.”

The report states, “Application leaders need to select RMAD tools that support specific business use cases and to build apps quickly and cost-effectively using no- or low-code approaches.” The report also offers a comprehensive analysis of the RMAD market, including key product capabilities and functionality for leading vendors.

Alpha Software clearly offers one of the most robust products evaluated in the report. Alpha Anywhere is ranked very highly on both critical criteria: capabilities and functionality.

Alpha Anywhere continues to receive heavy praise from Gartner, wide coverage in Gartner app development research. Gartner Analyst Jason Wong spoke to Solutions Review about “RMAD Predictions with Gartner and Alpha Software.”

Expect Alpha Anywhere to make major news at the Gartner Application Strategies and Solutions Summit next week in Las Vegas. If you’re attending the event, arrange a 1:1 demo (Booth 110).
